England & Lyle have been advising Allied Irish Bank and Coast Developments on the very complex planning issues surrounding this site.
The site was formerly occupied by a Pontins holiday park however following the closure of the park, planning consent was granted after a public inquiry in 2000. The scheme was subsequently commenced by a firm who then went into receivership leaving a half built scheme with many planning issues.
The site is subject to a complicated legal agreement and contains 3 listed buildings which have since been converted into leisure facilities for the residents of the scheme as well as the wider community.
Development of the site continues to be difficult given the present economic situation and England & Lyle continue to advise the landowners of suitable ways forward to realise the site potential.
